ELK FALLS & SUSPENSION BRIDGE
The bridge hangs 64mtrs above the Campbell River canyon floor offering a top to bottom view of Elk Falls. It is considered the highest suspension bridge to hang over a waterfall in Canada. Located 4kms on the Gold River Hwy 28, and off to Brewster Rd, the trail is located from the John Hart Interpretive centre. The Walk to the falls is 1.4km easy walk. There is a 74 steps to climb down to the bridge, then another 26 steps to the cantilever Platform that hangs over the waterfall.

WATERFALL CHASING
After visiting Elk Falls, stay on Highway 28 and head towards the Strathcona Parklands. Between Elk Falls and Gold River, there are 75 spectacular falls to view of all sizes. Don’t miss Upper and Lower Myra Falls. Low is a scenic hike through an old-growth forest on the west side of Buttle Lake in Strathcona-Westmin Provincial Park. Leads to a lookout of a large horsetail waterfall. The upper Myra Falls is on of the biggest falls in Strathcona Park, a 6.7kms moderate trail. Accessed from Buttle Lake, follow Westmin Road for about 35km until you reach Westmin mine.
CAMPBELL RIVER MUSEUM
Open daily, 10AM-5PM in the Summer, Tues to Sunday 12pm – 5pm in Winter.
The Museum collection comprises ethnographic, historic, archaeological and archival material of the northern Vancouver Island area, specifically from Oyster River east to Desolation Sound and north to Rivers Inlet, including off-shore islands; west to Gold River and beyond to the outer coast at Estevan Point, and north to the tip of Vancouver Island.

DISCOVERY PIER
Located at the entrance of historic Pier Street downtown Campbell River. The Discovery Pier was built in 1987 as a City initiative, funded by community groups especially Rotary. The Pier is 600ft in length and was the largest fishing pier built over salt water in Canada. Today, many fish from the pier catching up to 32lb Salmon. A great place to view whales, cruise ships, and eat ice-cream at the kiosk on the Pier.
TIDEMARK THEATRE
The Tidemark Theatre built in 1946, is an art deco, 467 seat performing arts venue located at 1220 Shoppers Row in downtown Campbell River, and is notably one the most prominent buildings downtown as depicted by its bright pink exterior. WHALE WATCHING
Campbell River is home of the Humpback Whale and we have 14 Whale Watching companies operating from April to October with Whale Watching tours between 2hour to 6hour trips.
There are several types of whales that make up the Whale Trail in this area, including the Southern Resident Orca, Northern Resident Orca, Humpback Whales, Biggs Killer Whales and Blue Whales. TRANSFORMATIONS ON THE SHORE
As you walk along the seawalk from the south end in Willow Point to the Tyee Spit at the north end you will see many driftwood creations and wood carvings produced from a collective of local artists.
The Seawalk is a 9.2km walk from south to north, there are many parking and picnic locations along the way.
